Jaana Varelius

Jaana Varelius has over a decade of experience in procurement and sourcing roles. Jaana started their career at Orion Pharma in 2007 as a Purchasing Officer, responsible for operational and strategic purchasing of packaging materials. Jaana later became a Sourcing Manager, focusing on procurement in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly primary packaging materials. In 2011, they joined Digita Oy as a Sourcing Manager before transitioning to Kemira in 2012. At Kemira, Jaana held various sourcing roles, including Sourcing Manager for Indirect Services and Head of Global Corporate Services Sourcing. In their roles at Kemira, they were responsible for managing selected corporate services spend, leading a team of global sourcing managers, and implementing a global ePurchasing online tool for indirect materials and services. Overall, Jaana has a strong background in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and category strategy development.

Jaana Varelius obtained their M.Sc. (Econ. & Bus. Adm.) degree in Supply Management from LUT University, where they studied from 2003 to 2008. In 2005-2006, they also pursued a D.E.U.F. degree in European Business Realities & French at Université Jean Moulin (Lyon III).
