Carl K. has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Carl began their career as a Patrol Officer with the City of Charleston Police Department in 1989 before joining the Bellevue Police Department as a Patrol Officer in 1991. During their time at the Bellevue Police Department, Carl held various roles, including Detective, Lieutenant, Captain, Major, and Assistant Chief of Police. Carl also served as a Firearms Instructor and Armorer for the department.
In 2019, Carl transitioned to Major League Baseball as an Authenticator before taking on the role of Investigations and Executive Protection in 2020. Carl then worked as the Director of Operations at Holmes Risk Management from April 2021 to September 2021. Currently, Carl is the Director of Security at Kemper Development Company.
Carl K. earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Language and Literature from The Citadel between 1985 and 1989. In 2015, they completed the High Performing Organization leadership training program at LEAD, University of Virginia, Charlottesville. From 2016 to 2018, they pursued adaptive community leadership at Leadership Eastside, without obtaining a degree. In 2017, they attended the Police Executive Research Forum Senior Management Institute for Police to further their knowledge in Police Executive Management and Leadership. Additionally, in 2018, they participated in the FBI National Academy Session 271 at Quantico, VA. Finally, in 2005, they completed the FBI LVBIED Class 69, although the duration of their study is not specified.
