Jeff Ill

Jeff Ill has amassed extensive experience in the insurance industry, holding various leadership roles throughout their career. Jeff began their journey at Allstate in 1982, where they served as a Senior State Manager and Senior Actuary. During this time, they successfully developed and implemented strategies to enhance market profitability and growth in New Jersey.

In 2004, Jeff joined Allstate Insurance Company of Canada as the Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management. Jeff played a pivotal role in devising product strategies that utilized credit on property products and implemented an aligned marketing strategy. Jeff also oversaw product operations, resulting in consistent combined ratios and policy growth.

Moving forward, Jeff joined Nationwide Insurance in 2006 as the Vice President of Pricing and Product. In this capacity, they led the development of rating and product enhancements, along with managing actuarial functions and product development efforts.

In 2008, Jeff returned to Allstate, where they held the position of Senior Director. Here, they directed efforts to expand the product portfolio to include homeowners insurance and co-led the development and launch of the successful Allstate House & Home Program.

In 2014, Jeff joined Esurance as the Vice President of Homeowners Product. During their tenure, they built and managed a multi-functioned team that introduced the Esurance Homeowners program to the Canadian marketplace, achieving profitable loss ratios and substantial written premium growth.

Most recently, Jeff has been with Kemper, starting in 2018 as the Vice President of Product Management. Jeff was subsequently promoted to Vice President of Actuarial, Pricing, and CAT Management, where they led the Actuarial and Pricing teams while also spearheading the CAT Management function. In 2022, they assumed the role of Vice President of Reinsurance, Cat Management, and Actuarial Research.

Throughout their career, Jeff has demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic planning expertise, and a profound understanding of the insurance industry.

Jeff Ill has an MBA in Business Administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, which they obtained from 2001 to 2005. Prior to that, they earned a BS in Mathematics from North Central College between 1978 and 1982. Additionally, Jeff has certifications as an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), both obtained in 1991.
