Amos Fondo has been working as a Data Manager at KEMRI - Wellcome Trust since February 2009. Their responsibilities include managing tools for data collection, entry, editing, cleaning, and organizing, as well as designing databases for data storage. Additionally, Amos has experience as a Data Supervisor overseeing data management tasks and training study teams. Prior to this, Amos worked as a Field Officer involved in data collection, entry, consenting, and sample collection. Currently, Amos also serves as a Social Media Coordinator at WMI Kenya Fellowship. Amos holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Pwani University and is currently pursuing an Msc. in Computing & Information Systems from Liverpool John Moores University.

KEMRI - Wellcome Trust

The KEMRI| Wellcome Trust Research Programme also known as the Centre of Geographical Medicine Research Coast (CGMRC) is one of the twelve centres of the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI). It is well known internationally for its work in tackling malaria and other infectious diseases, particularly bacterial and viral childhood infections. The Programme was formally established in 1989 as a partnership between KEMRI, Oxford University and the Wellcome Trust. It conducts basic, epidemiological and clinical research in parallel, with results feeding directly into local and international health policy It aims to expand the country's capacity to conduct multidisciplinary research that is strong, sustainable and internationally competitive. Strong community links are at the heart of the Programme, with an emphasis on capacity building and training to build scientific leadership in the region.
