Chris Scherer is a highly experienced legal professional specializing in intellectual property (IP) law, currently serving as a Partner and Co-Chair of the IP Group at DeWitt Law Firm since April 2016. Scherer manages a diverse client base, including manufacturers, universities, and corporations, while expertly preparing and prosecuting numerous domestic and international patent applications across various fields, including electrical systems, computer software, artificial intelligence, and medical devices. Additionally, as Corporate Counsel for Kenall Lighting, Scherer oversees IP portfolio management, litigation, and policy creation. Previous roles include Partner at Andrus Intellectual Property Law, where Scherer significantly expanded the practice, and an adjunct professor at Marquette University, where an IP Procurement and Management course was developed. Scherer holds a J.D. in Intellectual Property from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University.
