Vassar Byrd

Vassar Byrd is a seasoned executive in the senior living and healthcare sectors, currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of The Kendal Corporation since January 2024 and as President of the Board of Directors for LeadingAge Oregon since October 2021. Vassar's previous role as CEO of Rose Villa Senior Living from July 2006 to January 2024 involved comprehensive operational, financial, and strategic management for a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community. Additional experience includes positions as Director of Community Relations & Marketing at Holladay Park Plaza, Director of Marketing at Patton Home/Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, and analytical roles at The Highland Group and ECONorthwest. Vassar holds an M.A. in Gerontology from Naropa University, an M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics, and a B.A. in International Relations and Economics from San Francisco State University.
