Dr.-Ing. Christoph Gey has extensive work experience in the field of engineering and materials science. Dr.-Ing. Christoph began their career at Oerlikon in 2002, where they worked as a Projektleiter Beschichtung and later as an R&D Manager for Cutting Tools. In 2006, Dr.-Ing. Gey joined Kennametal, where they held various managerial roles, including Manager D&E Solid Carbide Drills and Manager Global Holemaking Systems Engineering. From 2010-2012, they served as the Manager of Global Holemaking and Endmill Engineering. In 2013, they became the Director of Product Engineering at Kennametal before transitioning to the role of VP Material Science in 2014. Currently, Dr.-Ing. Gey holds the position of VP Metal Cutting Technology at Kennametal, a role they have held since July 2020. Their experience spans across product engineering, materials science, and management in the metal cutting industry.

Dr.-Ing. Christoph Gey completed their education at Leibniz Universität Hannover. From 1990 to 1996, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Maschinenbau. Subsequently, they continued their studies at the same institution from 1996 to 2002, earning a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering specifically focused on Production Engineering.
