Associate Chair For Research - IT Department KSU at Kennesaw State University

Maria Valero is an accomplished academic and researcher, currently serving as the Associate Chair for Research and Associate Professor in the IT Department at Kennesaw State University. Since June 2020, Maria has also taken on the role of Program Coordinator for the MS Cybersecurity program. Prior to Kennesaw State University, Maria co-founded Home Dots LLC and served as R&D Director from January 2020 to June 2020, leveraging research conducted at the University of Georgia. From August 2015 to December 2019, Maria was a Research Assistant at the University of Georgia College of Engineering. Additionally, Maria held the position of Associate Professor at Universidad Nacional Experimental del Táchira from September 2004 to August 2015. Maria's educational background includes a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Georgia, a Master's degree in Computer Science from Universidad de los Andes (VE), and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Universidad Nacional Experimental del Táchira.
