Gerald Verwey

School Principal at Kent ISD

Gerald Verwey has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Gerald began their career in education in 2005 at Creative Technologies Academy, where they taught various science subjects and also served as a cross country and basketball coach. In 2013, they joined Kent ISD as a High School Science Teacher and later took on the role of Career Readiness/STEM Consultant. Most recently, they became a School Principal in July 2021. Additionally, Verwey has also worked as the Head Track & Cross Country Coach at Grace Christian University since April 2015.

Gerald Verwey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Integrated Science, Earth Science, and Health from Grand Valley State University from 1996 to 2002. Gerald also obtained a Master of Education degree in Teacher Leader from Wright State University between 2016 and 2017.
