Alex Valentine

Alex Valentine currently serves as the Managing Editor at the Lexington Herald-Leader, overseeing daily operations, editing, photography, and planning since July 2024. Prior experience includes the role of Public Safety Editor at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, managing a team covering crime and judicial matters, and leading digital strategy and night operations at the same outlet. Previous positions also include Enterprise Editor at both Quad-City Times and Times-News of Twin Falls, where Alex guided the production of numerous enterprise stories, and a Sports Editor at Times-News of Twin Falls. Early career roles involved reporting for The River City News and Medill Reports, covering sports and business, as well as internships in communications and public relations. Alex holds a Master’s Degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Thomas More University.
