Tessa Duvall has extensive work experience in journalism and reporting. Tessa is currently working as the Frankfort bureau chief and state government reporter for the Lexington Herald-Leader since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a freelance social media manager for Stryker Logistics from 2016 to 2023. From 2019 to 2022, they were an investigative and enterprise reporter for Courier Journal, where they played an instrumental role in the coverage of the Breonna Taylor case. Tessa'sreporting led to appearances on ABC's 20/20, MSNBC, and CBS News. Before that, they worked as an enterprise reporter for The Florida Times-Union and as an education reporter for Midland Reporter-Telegram. Tessa also has experience in digital media and social media management, having worked as a student lab consultant and social media manager for Western Kentucky University and College Heights Herald, respectively. Additionally, they were a Pulliam Fellow at The Arizona Republic and held various roles, including editor-in-chief and news editor, at College Heights Herald. Tessa also served as a Scripps Howard reporting intern at The Commercial Appeal.
Tessa Duvall began their education journey in 2005 at Warren Central High School, where they obtained a Commonwealth high school diploma in 2009. Following their high school graduation, they enrolled at Western Kentucky University in 2009 and completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in News/Editorial Journalism and Sociology in 2013. Additionally, in 2008, they participated in the Governor's Scholar Program.
