Oyaya Wellingtone is a skilled electrical engineer with extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as a System Protection & Control Engineer at Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) since August 2019. Key achievements include the successful implementation of protection schemes and maintenance for major substations, contributing to system stability and operational efficiency. Prior roles at KETRACO involved substation operations and transformer maintenance, while experience at Barefoot Power encompassed quality control and project supervision for solar energy projects. Wellingtone holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Power Systems Engineering from Murang'a University of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Technical University of Kenya, along with a diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Ramogi Institute of Advanced Technology.
