Tom Stevenson

Partner at Keoghs

Tom joined Keoghs in 2015 and was promoted to Partner in 2021. He specialises in motor crime and regulatory matters, and is regularly instructed to represent those accused of the most serious motor offences including causing death by dangerous driving. He was formerly a duty solicitor and trial advocate and has an extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system. Representing clients in Police PACE interviews, Tom guides them through the police investigation process, and his experience and grasp of interview strategy regularly assists clients to avoid prosecution. Tom has a successful track-record working alongside clients achieving acquittals for their customer, and also positive outcomes in several other cases where a guilty plea was advised, and a custodial sentence avoided. Tom also represents his clients and their customer’s interests at Inquest to protect against findings and conclusions that might have an adverse effect in both the criminal and civil arenas. Tom recognises the importance of working with civil lawyers and ensuring that the criminal and civil cases dovetail and the strategy is aligned.
