Imelda Ceja currently serves as Vice President of the California Alliance for Retired Americans and as Central Vice President of the California Democratic Party's Women’s Caucus. With extensive experience in leadership roles, Ceja has been President of the Central Labor Council for Kern, Inyo & Mono Counties since February 2015 and held the role of Project Specialist at the Kern County Public Health Department since July 1999. Additionally, Ceja was the First Latina President of SEIU 521 Retiree from February 2015 to February 2023, showcasing a strong commitment to community service and labor advocacy.

The Kern County Public Health Services Department is the local governmental agency charged with the protection and promotion of the public’s health. Our mission is “To protect and safeguard the health and safety of the community.” The Kern County Department of Public Health operates public health programs and enforces laws relating to public health, as prescribed in the State Health and Safety Code and the Kern County Ordinance Code. There are three departmental divisions, Emergency Medical Services, Environmental Health Services and Public Health Services.
