Jasmine Ochoa, MPH, currently serves as the Assistant Division Director of Health Services and Health Equity Officer at Kern County Public Health since January 2022. Prior to this role, Jasmine worked as a Public Health Program Specialist and Senior Health Educator at Kern County Public Health Services Department from February 2018 to January 2022. Earlier experience includes positions as a Community Outreach Health Educator with an HIV Mobile Unit and Community Outreach and Grant Writer for the Wellington Square Farmer's Market Grant at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science from April 2015 to May 2017. Additionally, Jasmine held a Practicum Coordinator role in a temporary grant position during the same period. Jasmine's professional background began as a Global Team Lead at Target from June 2011 to July 2016. Jasmine holds a Master's in Public Health focusing on Urban Public Health Disparities and a Bachelor of Science in Health and Life Sciences, both from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science.

The Kern County Public Health Services Department is the local governmental agency charged with the protection and promotion of the public’s health. Our mission is “To protect and safeguard the health and safety of the community.” The Kern County Department of Public Health operates public health programs and enforces laws relating to public health, as prescribed in the State Health and Safety Code and the Kern County Ordinance Code. There are three departmental divisions, Emergency Medical Services, Environmental Health Services and Public Health Services.
