Yufan Brandon Chen, MD, FACOG, FPMRS has a diverse work experience in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. Yufan Brandon currently holds multiple positions at Kern Medical, including Director of Clinical Research, Associate Program Director of the OBGYN Residency Program, and Chief of the Division of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery. In 2020, they also became an Assistant Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Prior to that, they co-founded the medical company Renalis and served as its Chief Medical Officer. Yufan Brandon also completed a Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center. Earlier in their career, they worked as a locum tenens physician in OBGYN at Weatherby Healthcare, as well as an OBGYN at Galesburg Cottage Hospital and Samaritan Health Services. Yufan Brandon began their residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Kaiser Permanente in 2012 and completed it in 2016. Overall, Dr. Chen's experience spans clinical practice, research, education, and leadership roles.

Yufan Brandon Chen, MD, FACOG, FPMRS completed their education at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where they obtained their medical degree (M.D.) from 2008 to 2012. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley, from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, they have obtained multiple certifications including being a Board Certified Subspecialist in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) in 2022, and being ABOG Board Certified in 2019.

Since our beginning in 1867, Kern Medical has served as an integral part of the community. Our 222-licensed bed acute care teaching hospital and outpatient clinics offer many services unavailable to the rest of the community. These services include: - The only Level II Trauma program between Fresno and Los Angeles - Academic teaching programs that have trained many of the physicians now practicing in our community. Each year, over 200 residents, fellows, and medical students enroll in Kern Medical's training programs. - Hospital-based high-risk pregnancy services - Inpatient psychiatric services integrated with the County's mental health programs - Integrated outpatient clinics with locations at our Columbus Clinic (1111 Columbus Avenue), Medical Center Campus (1700 Mt. Vernon Avenue), and on Truxtun Avenue (6401 Truxtun Avenue, Suite A-1) As an academic teaching hospital, we are affiliated with UCLA and its David Geffen School of Medicine, with many of our physicians also holding faculty positions at UCLA. Our physician training ranges from three to five years with residencies in internal medicine, surgery, family practice, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and psychiatry. We offer an extensive array of services to all – regardless of their circumstances. We continue to add new medical technologies, recruit outstanding physicians in new specialties, and further expand our affiliation with UCLA.
