Melissa Zhang

Melissa Zhang, P.Eng. PMP is a seasoned design engineer and project manager currently at Kerr Wood Leidal Associates Ltd. since January 2021. Previously, Melissa served as Engineering Manager at Ostara Nutrient Recovery Technologies from September 2006 to May 2020, where responsibilities included establishing the Engineering Department and designing engineering standards. Melissa managed multi-million-dollar wastewater treatment projects across Canada and the USA as a Project Manager, overseeing all aspects of project management. Early roles included Project Engineer and Process Engineer, focusing on nutrient recovery projects and process optimization of the Pearl® process. Melissa earned a Master of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University.
