Tom Kessler

Tom Kessler is the managing partner at Kessler & Co. Tom has over four years of experience in product deployment and development, most recently as a Senior Product Deployment Specialist - Server Implementation at Symplr (Cactus Software). There, they developed and refined processes for installation, configuration, and testing of the company's new flagship product, Cactus - Microsoft Web Platform application server (IIS, ASP 4.5, MS SQL). Tom also engineered the Cactus deployment process using PowerShell, automating new installations and updates in collaboration with intern and trainees. This project simplified an error-prone server configuration process with over 30 separate steps/decision points into a pair of scripts that took less than 5 minutes to run.

In addition to their work at Symplr, Tom has also worked as a Business Analyst. Tom performed analysis and remapping of legacy databases for conversion into CACTUS and created logical algorithms for custom web services, based on client specifications. Tom has consulted with clients to obtain requirements, present interim projects, and confirm satisfaction. Tom has also written estimates and statements of work in order to form business agreements prior to starting a project.

Tom has been promoted three times in 24 months and received a 17% raise for outstanding job performance. When they pursued full-time entrepreneurship, Symplr retained him as a part-time consultant.

Tom Kessler attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Tom also holds a certification from CompTIA in CompTIA Security+.
