Heather Maldonado

VP, Student Development at Keuka College

Heather Maldonado is the VP for Student Development at Keuka College. Heather previously worked as a visiting associate professor at Buffalo State College from June 2017 to May 2020. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating student development programming and co-curricular opportunities across campus. Before that, they served as the assistant dean of University College and director of academic standards from June 2010 to June 2017. In this role, they led a campus self-study on academic advisement which led to an overhaul of our campus practices and an increase in student satisfaction with advisement as indicated on the SUNY Student Opinion Survey. Prior to that, they worked as the assistant to the dean for academic standards and intervention from August 2004 to June 2010.

Heather Maldonado has a Ph.D. in Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education - Comparative Education from the University at Buffalo, a M.A. in Higher Education & Student Affairs with a Concentration in Organizational Development from The Ohio State University, and a B.A. in Political Science from State University of New York College at Geneseo with minors in Philosophy, Public Relations, Women and Gender Studies. Heather also has certification from the Higher Education Resource Services (HERS) in HERS Wellesley Institute and Rutgers University in Human Resource Management.

Heather Maldonado reports to Amy Storey, President. They work with Carrie Roberts - AVP for Strategic Initiatives, Colleen Bertrand - AVP for Human Resources, and Laura Fitzgerald - Director of Campus Recreation.
