Mikko Koskela has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and industries. Mikko began their career at ABB in 1994, where they held multiple roles as a Lead Engineer until 1998. In 1999, they transitioned into the finance industry, joining SEB Investment Banking as an Equity Analyst. In 2004, they moved to Kaupthing Bank as a Senior Analyst until 2006 when they joined Carnegie Investment Bank as a Client Account Manager. In 2010, they briefly worked at Pohjola as an Investment Director before returning to Carnegie Investment Bank in 2011. At Carnegie, they served as a Client Account Manager until 2016. In the same year, they joined Keva, taking on roles as a Portfolio Manager for Responsible Investments, and later as the Head of Internal Equities in 2018.

Mikko Koskela completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Henley Business School during the years 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, from 1988 to 1995, they pursued a Master's degree in Control and systems theory from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan. In terms of their earlier education, Mikko attended Herttoniemen Yhteiskoulu from 1982 to 1988, although no degree or field of study is specified for this period. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Competitive Strategy Programme from INSEAD Executive Education in October 2020.
