Derek Sutherland is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in franchising, corporate advisory, and commercial law. Currently serving as Consulting Principal at Keypoint Law since July 2023, Derek has previously held significant roles including Partner and Special Counsel at HWL Ebsworth from December 2012 to July 2023, Owner and Director of ICON LAW PTY LTD, and Partner at Dibbs Barker, where Derek led the Corporate Advisory division in Brisbane. Derek began their legal career at Minter Ellison after earning a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Queensland, along with secondary education at Brisbane Grammar School.
