Arwa Kakal

Arwa Kakal has a diverse range of work experience in the textile and design industry. Arwa started their career as an intern at Al-Karam Textile Mills Pvt. Ltd. in 2009. Later, they worked as a Wardrobe/Costume Designer at The Natak Company from 2007 to 2009.

In 2011, they started working as a Freelance Costume/Wardrobe Designer for TV Commercials at See’Me Productions, Karachi. Arwa continued in this role until 2016 and also took on a similar freelance position at Pixel Perfect Films from 2016 to 2017.

From 2012 to 2015, Arwa worked at SanaSafinaz as a Senior Textile/Product Designer. In this role, they played a key role in the launch and establishment of Sana Safinaz pret wear, handling various tasks such as converting line art designs into products, developing prints and embroideries, and supervising CAD design, embroidery sampling, and stitching units.

Arwa then joined Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Limited in 2015 as a Senior Designer, where they worked until 2017.

Most recently, Arwa has been employed at Khaadi SMC Pvt. Ltd. as a Senior Textile Designer since 2017.

Arwa Kakal's education history includes completing a Bachelor's degree in Textile Design from the Asian Institute of Fashion Design, Iqra University. Arwa attended this institution from 2006 to 2011. Prior to that, they pursued Pre-Engineering at Karachi Public College from 2003 to 2005, where they obtained their H.S.C degree. Arwa Kakal's educational journey began at the Toronto School of Academic Excellence, where they completed their S.S.C degree from 1993 to 2003.
