Umar Sharif

Umar Sharif has a diverse background in finance, with experience in various companies and roles. Umar most recently worked at Khaadi SMC Pvt. Ltd. as the Head of Finance, starting in March 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Financial Officer at Engro Eximp Agriproducts from January 2016 to March 2020.

Umar also worked at Engro Foods Limited, where they held multiple roles. From June 2012 to March 2020, they were the Supply Chain Financial Controller, responsible for developing corporate plans and monitoring their execution. Umar was also a member of the Supply Chain Council, which approved major projects, contracts, and budgets. From March 2010 to July 2012, Umar worked as the Manager Compensation & Benefits, leading a team and working on benchmarking compensation structures and implementing SAP. Before that, they were the Assistant Manager Accounts & Taxation from January 2009 to March 2010, overseeing financial reporting, tax compliance, payables, and fixed assets.

Prior to their time at Engro Foods, Umar worked at Arif Habib Investments as the Vice President - Fund Accounting & Operations from February 2008 to January 2009. In this role, they were responsible for accounting and reporting for mutual funds, monitoring net asset values, and assisting the research team.

Umar began their career at KPMG Ireland as a Senior Associate Financial Services from March 2007 to February 2008. Their responsibilities included auditing hedge funds and insurance companies, assisting with scope development, monitoring progress, and preparing reports.

Throughout their work experience, Umar gained expertise in finance, accounting, supply chain, compensation & benefits, and fund operations.

Umar Sharif started their education in 2002 at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, where they pursued a degree in Accounting and Finance. Umar completed their studies in this field in 2006. During the same year, Umar also enrolled in The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants to focus on Management Accounting. Umar pursued a Certified Management Accountant degree at this institution from 2002 to 2008.
