Elvira Valdez

Elly has a math degree, a business degree, and a knack for teaching. She taught high school students in charter and public schools for more than 16 years, but also worked in financial advising for four years. Now she's bringing her skills and enthusiasm to Khan Academy, where she creates engaging and informative content on financial literacy. She was born in Bosnia but has called Texas home for 25 years. She enjoys embroidery and archery, especially when her son is competing. She's sharp as an arrow.
