Sam Hays

Sam H. is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in software engineering and information security. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer for Security at Khan Academy since May 2023, Sam also instructs in Information Security at Vanderbilt University. Previous roles include Architect for IDAM at Solidigm and Senior Software Engineer at Splunk. Sam's career began as a Network Engineer at Simplex-IT, leading to positions ranging from Windows Systems Engineer at Sterling Jewelers to IT Executive at Creative Artists Agency, encompassing various aspects of security infrastructure and incident response. Sam holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Western Governors University, a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the same institution.
