Sam Spangler currently serves as a Weekend Anchor at KHON-TV since June 2019 and has been a Color Commentator and Host for Spectrum Sports since March 2012, providing color commentary and hosting pregame/postgame shows for University of Hawai'i athletics. Previously, Sam was a Sports Anchor at KHON-TV from August 2012 to June 2018, contributing to on-air content writing, editing, production, videography, and design. Additionally, Sam provided color commentary for high school baseball broadcasts on Spectrum OC16 in May 2015. Before entering the broadcasting field, Sam was a professional pitcher for the Minnesota Twins organization from June 2010 to November 2011, having been selected in the 2010 Major League Baseball draft. Academic qualifications include a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies: Health and Fitness from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, earned between 2006 and 2012, following graduation from Valley High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
