Javier Torremocha

Co-founder & Managing Partner at Kibo Ventures

Javier Torremocha has worked in the investment banking industry for over 25 years. Javier began their career in 1994 at Lehman Brothers in the Investment Banking Division. In 2000, they joined NetJuice Capital as Director of Business Development. Javier was a minority investor and senior manager at the venture capital group, which had over €60 million under management. In 2001, they moved to UBS as Head of Corporate Advisory Group, where they were part of a team of ten bankers responsible for providing strategic advisory to Wealth Management clients in Spain. In 2009, they moved to San Diego, California and combined studies at UCSD's Global Leadership Institute with analysis of investment opportunities in the internet space. In 2011, they co-founded Kibo Ventures, a VC firm investing out of Fund III with a total of $350M in AuM from both institutional and private investors. Javier's portfolio includes companies across multiple sectors in the enterprise software and consumer space.

Javier Torremocha began their educational career in 1988, when they attended the Universidad Pontificia Comillas and obtained an E-3 in Law & Business Administration in 1994. In 1997, they attended INSEAD to pursue an MBA in Business Administration and completed it in 1998. In 2009, they attended the UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy (GPS) and obtained a Certificate in International Relations in 2010. Javier also attended Retamar, though no degree was obtained.
