Desmond began their career as an Information Technology Intern at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection in 2014, where they provided technical support, troubleshooted problems, and performed minor repairs on equipment.
In 2015, Desmond worked as a Service Desk Analyst at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Services Institute. Desmond assisted over 500 users with IT system issues, achieving a high customer satisfaction rating and resolving technical problems in a timely manner.
Later in 2015, Desmond joined Family Bank Ltd as an IT Support Specialist. In this role, they provided technical support to over 1000 staff members, developed technical documentation, and implemented support processes to improve efficiency.

Later, Desmond went on to enroll in the University of Nairobi, where they are currently studying for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Management Information Systems. This program started in 2019 and is expected to end in 2023.
In addition to their formal education, Desmond obtained the International Computer Drivers License - Level One (ICDL) certification from ICDL Africa in September 2015.
