Irene Mettias-Ghobrial has a wide range of experience in the technology industry. Irene started their career as a System Programmer at IBM in 1990, where they changed the IBM AIX Operating System to enable bi-directional (Arabic and Hebrew) printing. In 1992, they worked as an Application Programmer at aTOP International. Irene then moved to Nortel Networks as an Engineering Software Developer/Senior IS Specialist in 1994. In 2000, they worked as an IT Consultant at Allstream, where they had several short term assignments for several clients. Irene then joined Shell in 2004 as a Sr Systems Analyst/Full Stack Developer, where they developed and supported web based applications. In 2012, they were promoted to Information Management Business Analyst, where they lead Information Management Business Analyst and Record Focal Point for Unconventional and Exploration Assets. In 2017, they joined Google Developer Group (GDG) Cloud Calgary as a Developer. Finally, in 2018, they joined viiz as a Software Developer, and in 2020, they joined Kidoodle.TV® - Owned by A Parent Media Co. Inc. as a Back End Developer.
Irene Mettias-Ghobrial is currently a student at The American University in Cairo. Irene also holds a Certified Information Professional certification from AIIM International, which they obtained in September 2016.
