Dr. Kathy Mendis is a Senior Lecturer and Course Coordinator for the Master of Social Work program at Acknowledge Education, with experience in various roles at Kids First Australia since July 2019, including School Readiness Training Consultant and Integrated Family Services Worker. Dr. Mendis serves on the Editorial Boards of the International Journal of Education & Teaching and the Journal of International Education and Practice. Previous governance experience includes a director role with the Council To Homeless Persons and extensive community service involvement, highlighted by positions at Gippsland Lakes Community Health and Annie North Women's Domestic Violence Service. Dr. Mendis holds a PhD in Social Work, a Master of Social Work, and a Bachelor of Social Work from La Trobe University, along with a National Diploma in Technology from the University of Moratuwa.
