Kirsty Thomson

Kirsty Thomson currently serves as the Senior Director for Europe at Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) since January 2023. Prior to this role, Kirsty was a Partner/Director at JustRight Scotland from May 2017 to January 2023, overseeing the organization's management, legal projects, fundraising, and compliance. Kirsty has also held the position of Senior Associate/Head of Department at the Legal Services Agency from March 2007 to February 2017, where responsibilities included managing projects focused on human rights, women's rights, children's rights, and refugee rights. Earlier in the career, Kirsty worked as an Associate Solicitor at CMS UK and as a Tutor in Human Rights Law at the University of Strathclyde. Additional experience includes roles as a Volunteer Advice Line Assistant at the Scottish Human Rights Centre and a Research Assistant at the University of Essex. Kirsty holds an LLM in International Law and Human Rights from the University of Essex and an LLB in European Law from the University of Strathclyde.
