Federico Carrillo

Federico Carrillo is the current Chief Operating Officer at KidZania. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Executive Officer at BICSA from December 2007 to May 2013.

BICSA is a corporate and investment bank headquartered in Panama with 250+ employees and physical presences in Miami (USA), Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua, as well as financial assets throughout Latin America. As CEO, Federico was responsible for the overall performance of the bank and they successfully transformed the bank towards the promotion of inclusive and sustainable private sector development throughout the Latin American region.

Under Federico's leadership, BICSA achieved its best-ever overall performance each and every year of their tenure (from fiscal year ended December 2007 to last twelve months ended March 2013). Fee income quadrupled from $3.2 million to $13.7 million, net income tripled from $6.1 million to $18.2 million, Pre-Tax Return On Equity doubled from 6.2% to 14.1%, and the efficiency ratio improved to 42.7% (from 67% in Dec.2007). The loan portfolio also doubled from $550 million to $1,164 million while diversifying from 5 to 16 countries.

In terms of the bank's financial strength, liquidity tripled from $61 million to $215 million, reserves increased by 70%, from 0.9% to 1.6% of gross loans, wholesale lending participation decreased

Federico Carrillo has a postgraduate diploma in strategy and innovation from Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford. Federico also has a master's degree in managerial economics and finance from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Finally, they have a Juris Doctor in law from the Law School at Universidad de Costa Rica.

Their manager is Xavier López, Chief Executive Officer. Some direct reports include Paola Sandoval - Group Sales Services Sr. Director, Carla Alcaraz - PR & CSR Associate. They are on a team with Fernando Gómez - Dirección de Shared Service, Hernán Barbieri - Franchisee Services Managing Director, and Gilberto Guido - Visitor Services Managing Director.
