David Mihalyi

David Mihalyi is a Senior Economist at The World Bank since April 2022 and serves as a PhD Candidate at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. Previously, David held the position of Senior Economic Analyst at the Natural Resource Governance Institute, where responsibilities included providing technical assistance on natural resource management across several countries, drafting policy papers on macroeconomic challenges, and building open data tools for comparative research. As a Visiting Research Fellow at Central European University, David focused on macroeconomic issues faced by resource-rich countries. Early career roles include Economist at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development of Hungary, Junior Economist at the National Bank of Hungary, and forecasting and reporting responsibilities at the Office of the Fiscal Council of Hungary. David Mihalyi obtained a Master of Science in Development Economics from the University of Nottingham and a Master's degree in Economics from Corvinus University of Budapest.
