Guy Smithson is an accomplished Commercial Director with extensive experience in the construction industry. Currently serving as the Commercial Director for the £1.7 billion Regional Building Business Stream at Kier Group since July 2018, Guy previously held the position of Commercial Director Southern at Kier Construction Ltd from April 2012 to June 2018, overseeing a turnover of approximately £300 million across four offices. Prior experience includes serving as Commercial Director at Miller Construction, managing the £150 million Southern Region from 2004 to 2012, and acting as Regional Commercial Manager at Haymills, directing a £45 million London Region from 2000 to 2004. Guy began a career in construction as a Quantity Surveyor at John Laing Construction from June 1988 to June 2000, progressing to Senior Quantity Surveyor. Guy holds a degree from Liverpool John Moores University, completed in 1991.
