John Gershenson

John Gershenson is an engineer and entrepreneur who is passionate about creating companies that serve the needs of developing communities. He is a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and the faculty director of the Humanitarian Engineering and Social Entrepreneurship program at Penn State. John has over 15 years in product development in everything from cars, to CNC centers, to heavy equipment, to bikes. He has spent the last 8 years focused on products and businesses for Kenya. John launched one previous social venture based in Kitale. He is a cyclist and chooses chapati and ndengu. John manages Kijenzi’s research and funding operations.
