Melissa Harlan is an accomplished architect currently serving as President Elect, Treasurer, and Director at AIA St. Louis since January 2022, and a Board Member for AIA Missouri, a Council of the American Institute of Architects since January 2024. Harlan has extensive experience in architectural design, having worked at Kiku Obata & Company since October 2019, and previously held various roles at Christner Inc. from November 2013 to September 2019, including Senior Associate and Director of Interior Architecture. Notably, Harlan led the project for a significant residence in Bloomfield Hills while working at Monica Ponce de Leon Studio from March 2011 to October 2013. Harlan's design expertise was also developed at Office dA and with earlier formative experiences at several respected architecture firms. Educational credentials include a Master of Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Arkansas, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Arkansas State University.
