Larry Seibert

Chairman, President & Co-founder at Kilowatt Labs

Larry began his career as an accountant for Peat Marwick (currently KPMG). He then moved on to Goldman Sachs as a Senior Analyst working for the company’s Head Equity Trader, the Block Trading Desk, and the Convertible Trading desk in New York, learning the art and science of trading public investment vehicles.

He then began work at Avatar Associates, a mid-sized investment management firm in NYC, working with Wall Street legend Marty Zweig. Starting in operations, he moved up to Security Analyst, Portfolio Manager, left for a 4-year stint as Director of Research at Barrett Associates (also in NYC), returned to Avatar in 2004 and bought the company with his partner Ted Theodore in 2008, finally adding to his list of titles CFO, COO, and Co-Chief Investment Officer.

Throughout his tenure at Avatar, he specialized in the technology, telecom, and healthcare sectors for institutional and high net worth investment clients, while working within (and eventually taking over) Marty’s quantitative tactical asset allocation methodology.

He has worked in public, private, and startup markets, and has founded, invested in, and run numerous early-stage companies. He currently mentors students at Columbia University at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Larry attended Phillips Exeter Academy and Columbia University, concentrating on the study of Economics, Architecture, and Computer Science. He lives with his wife and two children in New York City.
