Louise Slate

Louise Slate is a seasoned professional in water resource management with extensive experience across various roles in leading engineering firms. Currently serving as a Practice Builder at Kimley-Horn, Louise focuses on surface water management, planning, modeling, and design within a collaborative team. Previously, Louise held multiple leadership positions at Tetra Tech, including Hampton Roads Operations Manager and Navy Initiative Lead. Notable accomplishments include establishing a federal water practice at Amec Foster Wheeler and contributing to significant reconstruction efforts in Afghanistan. Louise's expertise also encompasses civil site design, stormwater management, and project management from prior roles at Stewart Engineering and HW Lochner, among others. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor's degree in Natural Resources from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
