Architect / Lead developer Ground Station at Kinéis

Michaël Legagneur has a diverse work experience in the field of software and network engineering. Michaël is currently working as an Architect and Lead Developer for Ground Station at KINEIS since October 2020. Prior to this, they worked at Sigfox from 2015 to 2020, where they held the position of Senior Linux Software and Network Engineer from January 2019 to September 2020. Michaël also worked as a Linux Software Engineer on Sigfox Station, contributing to the development and maintenance of application layers, core components, and BSP (Yocto) of Sigfox base stations. Their responsibilities included integrating radio applications, developing communication protocols to the Sigfox cloud, managing multi-interface networks, establishing secure connections via IPsec, and working on core system functions such as boot, partitioning, OTA updates, and encryption. During their time at Sigfox, they also developed a security library for TPM (Trusted Platform Module) management and integrated a measured boot bootloader to the operating system. Additionally, they contributed to the integration of the IPsec client Strongswan and added support for new cellular modems within ModemManager. Michaël also worked on improving the Continuous Integration (CI) process through Jenkins pipeline for building, unit testing, and functional testing. Michaël actively participated in level 3 support as well. Before joining Sigfox, Michaël worked at Orange Business Services - Orange Application for Business from 2012 to 2015 as an Embedded Development and Telecommunications Engineer. Michaël was involved in creating a generic embedded connectivity solution for various environments, including buses, high-speed trains, and cars. Prior to that, they worked as an Apprentice Embedded Development and Telecommunications Engineer at Orange Labs from 2009 to 2012. Michaël completed a certification internship for digital satellite terminals at Bertin Services Aerospace SA in 2009.

Michaël Legagneur completed their education in a chronological manner. From 2007 to 2009, they attended IUT de Cachan where they pursued a DUT degree in Génie Electrique et Informatique Industrielle. After that, from 2009 to 2012, they enrolled at ISEP - école d'ingénieurs du numérique, specializing in télécommunications, where they obtained an Ingénieur degree.
