Katara J. Jordan is currently the Senior Director of the Ombuds Office at the King County Regional Homelessness Authority, a position held since December 2021. Prior to this role, Katara served as the Senior Manager for Policy & Advocacy at Building Changes from August 2016 to November 2021 and was an Affiliate Instructor at the University of Washington School of Law for a fall 2020 seminar on legislation and public policy. Katara's legal experience includes serving as a Staff Attorney for the Children and Youth Project at Columbia Legal Services and as an Equal Justice Works Homeless Education Fellow. In addition, Katara worked as a Resiliency Services Coordinator at the UCLA Nathanson Family Resilience Center. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of Washington School of Law, a Masters in Social Work from the University of Washington School of Social Work, and a Bachelor of Arts in Women's Studies from Barnard College.
