Amelia Spencer

Amelia Spencer is a Senior Attorney at Brooklyn Defenders since March 2022, previously holding the position of Staff Attorney at the same organization. Amelia served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army Reserve from July 2021 to June 2023 and worked as a Staff Attorney at Legal Services NYC from September 2019 to November 2021. Prior experience includes serving as an Adjutant General Officer in the Maryland Army National Guard and holding various legal internship and clerkship roles, including at Victor M. Glasberg & Associates and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. Amelia holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and a Master’s Degree from The George Washington University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with additional studies in Arabic and Spanish from The Ohio State University.
