Previously, Champaco held the role of Communications Manager for the City of Lakewood, overseeing communication strategies and social media engagement, while earning the National Association of Government Communicators Blue Pencil & Gold Screen Award in 2015. Prior experience includes positions as Senior Local Editor for Patch.com, Reporter for The News Tribune, and various writing roles at other publications, showcasing a strong background in journalism and community engagement. Brent Champaco holds a Master's Degree in Communication and Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in English from Washington State University.
