Brent Champaco

Brent Champaco has extensive experience in public communications and media, currently serving as the Public Information Officer for King County Local Services since November 2016, where outreach efforts for unincorporated areas are prioritized. Previously, Champaco held the role of Communications Manager for the City of Lakewood, overseeing communication strategies and social media engagement, while earning the National Association of Government Communicators Blue Pencil & Gold Screen Award in 2015. Prior experience includes positions as Senior Local Editor for Patch.com, Reporter for The News Tribune, and various writing roles at other publications, showcasing a strong background in journalism and community engagement. Brent Champaco holds a Master's Degree in Communication and Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in English from Washington State University.
