Ahmed Alfares currently serves as the Deputy Executive Director and Medical Consultant at the Centre for Genomic Medicine, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center. In addition, Ahmed acts as a Scientific Advisor for the National Newborn Screening Program to Eliminate Disabilities under the Ministry of Health. Previous roles include Associate Professor of Medical Genetics at Qassim University and Lab Director of the Clinical Biochemical Genetics Laboratory at the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, where expertise in various diagnostic platforms was applied. Ahmed also gained valuable experience as a Clinical Fellow at Harvard Medical School, specializing in Clinical Biochemical and Molecular Genetics, and completed residency training in Medical Genetics at McGill University. Educational qualifications include extensive training in both clinical biochemical genetics and molecular genetics from prestigious institutions.
