تأسست مؤسسة الملك خالد عام 1421 هـ الموافق 2001م في مدينة الرياض. وتسعى المؤسسة لتحقيق رؤيتها لمجتمع سعودي تتكافأ فيه الفرص ويسعى للازدهار عبر تفعيل دور المساهمين في التنمية و تمكينهم من خلال الاستثمار الاجتماعي وبناء القدرات وكسب التأييد. تهدف مؤسسة الملك خالد لبناء قدرات المساهمين في التنمية ليتمكنوا من أداء أدوارهم وتحقيق رسالتهم بشكل أكبر وأثر مستدام من خلال برنامج بناء القدرات. أما الهدف الثاني فهو تصميم السياسات وكسب التأييد والذي يسعى إلى معالجة نقص منظومة الحماية الاجتماعية وضعف الفرص المتكافئة للفئات الهشة في المملكة عن طريق الدراسات وجمع وتحليل الأدلّة الموثّقة، بالإضافة لرفع الوعي وحشد التأييد للتأثير الإيجابي على صناعة القرار. والهدف الثالث هو تقديم المنح من خلال برنامج الاستثمار الاجتماعي لرفع المستوى المعيشي للفئات الهشة. وتقدم المؤسسة نوعين من المنح: 1. منحة تقدم إلى المنظمات 2. منحة الريادة الاجتماعية لحاضنات الأعمال King Khalid Foundation was founded in 2001 in Riyadh. The Foundation seeks to achieve its vision of a Saudi society with equal opportunities and seeks to prosper by activating the role of contributors in development and empowering them through social investment, capacity building and advocacy. The Foundation aims to build the capacity of development stakeholders to enable them to fulfill their roles and fulfill their mission further with sustainable impact through a capacity building program. The second objective is policy design and advocacy, which seeks to address the lack of social protection system and equal opportunities of vulnerable groups in the Kingdom through studies, collection and analysis of documented evidence, as well as raising awareness and advocating for positive influence on decision-making. The third objective is to provide grants through the Social Investment Program to raise the standard of living of vulnerable groups. The Foundation offers two types of grants: 1. Grant to organizations 2. Social Entrepreneurship Grant for Business Incubators
