Chelsea James has over 14 years of work experience. Chelsea began their career in 2006 as a Line Cook at La Senorita Mexican Restaurant. In 2007, they became a Baker at Big Apple Bagels, and in 2010 they became a Sous Chef at Wild Rover Public House & Bistro. In 2014, they became a Shift Manager at Short's Brewing Company, and in 2016 they became a Kitchen Manager at The Cantina - Tacos & Tequila. In 2020, they returned to Short's Brewing Company as a Kitchen Worker. Most recently, they have been a Sales Manager at King Orchards since 2022.

Chelsea James obtained their High School Diploma from Leslie High School in 2006. Chelsea then attended Capital Area Career Center from 2004 to 2006, where they studied Culinary Arts/Chef Training. From 2006 to 2010, Chelsea attended Lansing Community College, where they earned an Associate's degree in Hospitality. Chelsea then attended Northern Michigan University from 2010 to 2014, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science - BASc in Hospitality Management. Chelsea has also obtained two certifications from the National Restaurant Association: a ServSafe Food Manager certification in December 2021, and a ServSafe Manager certification in December 2021.
