Kevin Macdonald

Partner & Head of Direct Investments at Kingfish Group

Kevin has over 30 years of private equity experience. He was a co-founder and managing partner of two middle market private equity firms with over $3.5 billion of combined assets: The Clipper Group, which spun out of Credit Suisse First Boston in 1990, and Monitor Clipper Partners, which was launched in 1997 and affiliated with Monitor Group, a leading global strategy and business consultancy. Kevin also served as Co-Managing Partner of Morgenthaler’s private equity activity and as Managing Partner of Lightbridge Partners LLC, an investment and advisory firm that he founded in 2011.

Over the years, Kevin has personally led 15 investments that returned over $1.5 billion to investors, and he has served on the boards of 25 private companies in a wide range of industries. Earlier in his career, Kevin worked in leveraged acquisitions with Credit Suisse First Boston and strategy consulting with Boston Consulting Group.

Kevin holds an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar, and a B.A. in Economics from Yale University.
