Head Of Modern Foreign Languages at King's InterHigh

Clair Atkins is an experienced educational leader specializing in Modern Foreign Languages. Since February 2021, Clair has served as the Head of Modern Foreign Languages at King's InterHigh, overseeing the core curriculum in French, Spanish, and Arabic for students from Foundation Stage to Year 12 and managing a team of 16 staff. Prior to this role, Clair was the Director of Communications at GEMS Education from August 2017 to February 2021, where responsibilities included leading the school’s communication strategies. From September 2009 to August 2017, Clair was the Head of the MFL Department at Leeds City Council, focusing on departmental improvement and strategic planning. Earlier experience includes a decade at Bradford Council as a Teacher of French and Spanish, where numerous leadership roles were undertaken to enhance student achievement. Clair holds a PGCE in French and Spanish from the University of Leeds and a Bachelor of Arts in the same subjects from The Manchester Metropolitan University.
