Marlene Fossey has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Marlene currently holds the position of Head of Modern Foreign Languages at Harris Academy Bermondsey since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Second in charge of MFL at The Richmond Upon Thames School starting from March 2021. In 2020, they were a French Teacher at MICHAELA COMMUNITY SCHOOL from June to December. From September 2018 to June 2020, Marlene worked as a Teacher of French at Harris Federation. Before that, they gained experience as a Student Teacher at the Institute of Education from September 2017 to June 2020. Marlene also served as an HLTA and Cover Supervisor at Ashmole Primary School from September 2016 to July 2017. Marlene began their teaching career as an English Teacher and Teaching Assistant at L'Ecole Internationale Franco-Anglaise- EIFA from August 2014 to August 2016, and August 2014 to July 2015, respectively. Additionally, they worked as an Assistant Language Teacher at North Shore Academy from October 2013 to July 2014. Marlene also has administrative experience, having worked as an Administrative assistant at The University of Nottingham from 2012 to 2013.
Marlene Fossey completed their Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from Université de Caen Normandie in 2011. In 2012, they pursued a Master's Degree in British and American History- Research from the same university, which they completed in 2013. Additionally, in 2011-2012, Marlene embarked on a Year Abroad program at Louisiana State University, where they focused on British and American History. Marlene then furthered their studies at Université d'Angers, completing a Master's Degree in Teaching French as a Second or Foreign Language in 2014. Finally, from 2017 to 2018, Marlene attended IOE - UCL's Faculty of Education and Society, where they obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with a specialization in French and Spanish.
