J.L. Baker is a Senior Partner with Kingsley Gate Partners. J.L. has nearly 20 years of experience in both Fortune 300 Corporate HR Leadership and Top-Five retained executive search.

Prior to joining Kingsley Gate, J.L. served as CEO and Managing Director of GattiHR – a premier HR Specialized search firm. Having worked with hundreds of clients in a variety of consulting capacities J.L. is a thought leader and has built a reputation for developing strong trusted partnerships, offering deep expertise and delivering an unsurpassed level of consultation and care to clients, focusing on quality, speed and results.

J.L. holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa in Economics. He is active within the community and supports numerous organizations including the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital and the American Cancer Society. He is also a proud supporter of the University of Iowa Alumni Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Iowa Club.
