John Farriss

Software Engineer at Kingsmen Software

John Farriss has over five years of experience in the software engineering field. John began their career in 2016 as an Information Technology Intern at Orange County Facilities Administration, where they utilized IBM Maximo software to track and manage inventory of repair equipment, work tasks of employees, and costs of utilities for all government buildings within multiple databases. John also tested newly created software before integrating into county computers for use by employees and organized and compared utility bills using EnergyCAP software to create reports used to reduce energy consumption throughout county.

In 2017, Farriss joined All Points Logistics as a Software Engineer Intern, where they assisted the company in acquiring a CMMI level of 3 from a CMMI level of 1. John also created documentation detailing the businesses internal processes and strategies used in the final CMMI assessment and developed front-end applications using ASP.

From 2019 to 2022, Farriss worked at SAIC as an Associate Software Engineer and Software Engineer Intern. During this time, they developed a Windows service application that retrieves client-side rendered views from a queue, creates server-side rendered views (using RazorEngine), and combines all the data into a single PDF. John also created an in-application communication system, which sends a notification email to the recipient notifying them a new message can be viewed in the system, removing the need for buyers and suppliers to communicate via unsecured networks. In addition, they designed and implemented a feature allowing administrators to create supplier profiles without being required to enter the supplier portal and request creation of an account.

Currently, Farriss is employed at Kingsmen Software as a Software Engineer.

John Farriss obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from the University of Central Florida in 2019. John also holds a Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft, which they obtained in October 2022.
